L'Oreal OnBeauty App
L'Oreal USA approached my team at BrightLine to create the first health & beauty app on Roku and the first app built by an advertiser. We began with designing the OnBeauty brand and continued the project into development and launch of the app.
DESIGNING FOR ROKU
L’Oreal USA is the largest subsidiary of the L'Oreal Group, with countless brands in its portfolio. Roku was the first OTT device to stream Netflix. As a designer, I had to closely adhere to the guidelines of the world's leading beauty company but also the platform restrictions of the number one OTT device. I worked closely with both teams to ensure the navigation and style felt authentic and native
Upon entering the app, users are greeted with a large full screen video, updated daily. These videos create an immersive billboard teasing additional app features and showcasing products within.
Featured Products and How-To’s
Interlinking the product gallery and the how-to video library became one of our most popular features. Users loved navigating between products to tutorial style videos, and vice versa.
DRIVING SOCIAL Engagement
Social sharing through Facebook and Twitter was integrated for any users wanting to share a video, product, or the app with their friends!
Product Look Book
Continuing the theme of inspiration, we leveraged user generated mood boards into large-scale lookbooks. This integration was a huge success and drove a large second screen engagement.
